<Navels-Prologue> is a short science fiction which describes the encounter of two siblings, who met each other after 20 years they were born. This video assumes a situation in which beings do not necessarily have to be born in their mother’s womb. The seemingly indifferent dialogue of the characters suggests a non-linear kinship with no center and no periphery. Raised by non-parents and caregivers who may one day be replaced, their navel is not one. Inspired by Octavia Butler’s novels, this work is about how we can bond with non-human beings without anthropocentric thinking.
